catching up on life

I just graduated high school and got my results yesterday. To be honest I wasn’t that nervous when I thought about the day I’d get them, and I wasn’t nervous until I opened the page and had to click on “get ATAR” – then I was terrified. I suddenly felt this tumbling feeling as I realized that 2 numbers were so important. There is so much hype surrounding results and too much pressure to succeed. I worked hard last year and my results show that and obviously I’m stoked but now that everything is over I have started to feel a sense of so what? Now what do I do.  I got good results but what does that mean? My 12 years of schooling led me to here and dropped me off. I’m on a family holiday in England visiting family and friends and they all ask me the same question “what’s your plan for next year”. I hate that question because I literally have no idea!! If I still lived in England I would still have another 6 months of school and I don’t think I could handle it… too many boring powerpoints and endless minutes spent wishing the clock would move faster, constantly counting down to 3.25, running to always miss the bus, making up excuses why I didn’t do my homework, praying for a relief teacher, dreading exams, too many nights cramming for a test that I promised I’d actually study for etc but then a part of me wishes I did have school, I want to feel the safety of knowing what to do everyday, have a reason to see my friends, laugh at lunch, make too much noise in the library, not having to worry about what uni to pick. Feeling in a torn mood today think I’m in-between emotions or something… thought I’d share a few photos from England where I’ve been visiting family. x

Christmas ideas for teenage girls 2014

Beckham Signature perfume

I got this perfume last Christmas and I love it! I’m not really into the really sweet flowery smelling perfumes because I find them a bit too strong and powerful. But this one is different and really unique. It’s got a really lovely faint vanilla smell. I feel really classy when I wear it! It’s a perfect gift for any girl. The prices I’ve seen of these online varies from $15 – $20 (AUS)

Skull Candy headphones

I got these headphones a few years ago now and I can honestly say these are some of the best I’ve ever had! They are really comfy because you can adjust them so they aren’t too tight/small. I use them a lot for traveling because they are good quality and can cut out the noise on a noisy plane or bus, they also fold down really small which makes them perfect for packing. I think this is a perfect present for both boys and girls, they are a good alternative to the beats headphones that everyone is getting.  They are quite expensive as they range from about $70 - $100 depending on the style http://www.skullcandy.com/holiday-sale/

Kiki K Diary

I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love a good diary. With all the technology and iPhones these days people don’t seem to carry them around much. I personally can’t live without mine. My brother got me this diary back in 2011 and I absolutely love the style. Hopefully this year he gets me another!! It’s really simple with lots of space for writing things and it also has a really lovely address book in the back. The style like the one in the picture is $26.95 and available at

Burton Hat (beanies and wooly hats are a great idea)

I got this hat last winter in a tiny town in Norway called Trysil. It’s a Burton hat though so its available online and also in a lot of outdoor clothing shops. It’s a really nice present for someone if they are going to be skiing over the winter period or if they are just a beanie lover! I’m not sure if they still have this particular hat but there are so many other lovely ones on the website, prices vary from about $15-$40. http://www.burton.com/default/womens-beanies

Divergent (or any book)

When I was little I used to read all the time, but with all the stress of school and exams I haven’t had time to read in sooo long. Now that schools finished I’ve had a lot more time and I read Divergent and I loved it! It’s the perfect gift for a teenage girl, it’s also just been released as a film so I suggest reading the book first and then going to the movies! On amazon its $9.99

Bedside Light
I got this funky light only a few weeks ago, I was walking through Ikea and saw this for only $2! It’s so cute and it looks really nice in a room because its very unique. The only down side is that the light isn’t very powerful, it also doesn’t come with batteries.

Cheap Alternative to the Longchamp "Le Pilage"

For about 6 months I have really wanted the Longchamp “Le Pilage” bag that everyone seems to be getting, they look so lovely but I cant afford one! The one that I want is about $160 and I haven’t been able to persuade myself to buy one. I was walking past Meredith the clothes store about a month ago and saw this bag in the window and my jaw dropped to the floor because it’s the exact copy of the Longchamp bag that I want so badly. Obviously I ran into the store and freaked out when I saw it was on sale for $30 from $60 originally. I bought it on the spot.

I had been looking online for a nice alternative to the Longchamp one and I couldn’t seem to find one. A few of my friends had got exact copies from Bali for a few dollars but I wanted mine to last. I bought the Meredith one because I wanted to see if I liked the style of the bag once I had used it for a couple of days. Inside it’s just 1 big pouch which is a little annoying because its quite hard to find anything because you have to rummage around but overall I really love this bag, it’s the perfect alternative to the Longchamp ones and about $100 cheaper! It also has a zip on the inside which I use to put my phone and my keys in which makes it a lot easier.

I think buying a cheap alternative to an expensive bag is a really good idea because you can get the feel for the bag because sometimes certain styles of bags just don’t work with certain people, after using this Meredith bag I really want the real one!! (I’ll just have to keep saving!)
